prthak-bhavam--separated
identities; eka-stham--situated in
one; anupasyati--one tries to see
through authority; tatah eva--thereafter;
ca--also; vistaram--the
expansion; brahma--the Absolute; sampadyate--he
attains; tada--at that
time.
TRANSLATION
When a sensible man ceases to see
different identities due to
different material bodies and he sees
how beings are expanded
everywhere, he attains to the Brahman
conception.
PURPORT by Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta
Swami Prabhupada:
When one can see that the various
bodies of living entities arise due
to the different desires of the individual
soul and do not actually
belong to the soul itself, one actually
sees. In the material
conception of life, we find someone
a demigod, someone a human being,
a dog, a cat, etc. This is material
vision, not actual vision. This
material differentiation is due to
a material conception of life.
After the destruction of the material
body, the spirit soul is one.
The spirit soul, due to contact with
material nature, gets different
types of bodies. When one can see
this, he attains spiritual vision;
thus being freed from differentiations
like man, animal, big, low,
etc., one becomes purified in his
consciousness and able to develop
Krsna consciousness in his spiritual
identity. How he then sees things
will be explained in the next verse.

[Lord Caitanya told Çacé] Birth after birth you are My mother. Again, in this birth, I have come to begin the saokértana movement, and so I have become your son. My appearance in this world is twofold: I appear as the arca-mürté and as the holy name. In this way I appear upon the tongue in the form of sound, and as the Deity made from the elements drawn from the earth. In both these forms I am worshiped, and in these two features I have appeared in order to spread the saokértana movement. (Chaitanya bhagavat. Madhya 27.47)

The
Lord's holy name, form, and personality are all one and the same. There
is no difference between them. Since all of them are absolute, they are
transcendentally blissful. There is no difference between Kåñëa's
body and Himself, nor between His name and Himself. For conditioned souls
everything is different. One's name is different from one's body, from
one's original form, and so on. The holy name of Kåñëa,
as well as His body and His pastimes cannot be understood by the blunt
material senses; they are self-manifest. (Cc. Madhya 17.131,132,134)

Forgetting
Kåñëa, the living entity has been attracted by the external
energy from time immemorial. Therefore the illusory energy gives him all
kinds of misery. As a result, sometimes he is raised to heaven, and sometimes
he is drowned in hell, just as a criminal is raised and again lowered into
a pond on a dunking stool as punishment. (Cc. Madhya 20.117-118)

By understanding
the truth of the Supreme Lord, one can slip the bonds of material life
and get free from the miseries of repeated birth and death. Liberated from
the gross and subtle material bodies, as an associate of the Supreme Lord
in His transcendental abode, he attains an eternal divine form and realizes
his heart's desires. (Çvetäçvatara Upaniñad 1.11)

After
many births one achieves the human form, which, although temporary, affords
one the opportunity to attain the highest perfection. Thus, a sober person
should immediately endeavor for the ultimate perfection of life and not
fall back into the cycle of repeated birth and death. After all, sense
gratification is available even in the most abominable species, whereas
Kåñëa consciousness is only possible for a human being.

The
following devotees attained Kåñëa and thus realized the
ultimate goal of life by following one of the nine methods of devotional
service: Mahäräja Parikñita realized Kåñëa
through hearing about His glories (çravanam), Çukadeva Gosvämé
realized Kåñëa through speaking the Çrémad
Bhägavatam (kértanam). Prahläda realized Him through devotional
remembrance (smaraëam). Lakñmédevé attained His
mercy by serving His lotus feet (päda-sevanam). Mahäräja
Påthu attained Him through worship (arcanam). Akrüra attained
Him through prayer (vandanam). Hanuman attained Him through personal service
(däsyam). Arjuna attained Him through friendship (sakhyam). Bali Maharaja
attained Him through complete surrender of body, mind, and words (ätmä-nivedanam).

Inspirational Advice from "Your
Ever Well Wisher"
72-12-19 (19th December 1972)
Delhi
My dear Tejiyas,
Please accept my blessings. I am in due receipt of your letter dated December 10, 1972, and I am very much disturbed to hear from you that you have become disturbed in your mind. Do not be disturbed. There is no cause for anxiety. You are doing your best to serve Krishna, that is very much appreciated, so do not lose enthusiasm out of frustration, that will spoil everything. Krishna Consciousness means we should always be satisfied and happy, not that we must work something impossible, becoming overburdened, and then because we are unhappy by so much trouble we lose enthusiasm altogether and give up all hope. No, if too much endeavour is there, that is to be avoided. By all means we must preserve our spiritual status, that is the point, not that we are mad after big buildings, many devotees, life-members, this, that--no, these are only ways to engage the devotees so that they may apply the principles of devotional living to some kind of work for practical realization of these principles. It is not the result of the work we want. If only one person daily, if we sincerely preach to such one person in a day, that is sufficient, never mind big, big programmes. So my request to you is that you do not be bothered by these things, and I have instructed Tamala Krishna and Syamasundara to send you men, so they will do it, rest assured. Krishna does not like to see His sincere devotee suffer or become frustrated or depressed. He will not stand idly by in any such case, so do not fear on that account. Krishna has got some plan for you, always think in that way, and very soon He will provide everything to your heart's desire.
(letter from Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta
Swami Prabhupada to his disciple Tejiyas dasa)

JAMAICAN FRUIT &
ICECREAM SUNDAE:
Ingredients:
4 large bananas
1 whole pineapple
250 grms brown
sugar
100 grms butter
500 grms/ half
litre cream
500 grms vanila
ice cream
Method:
either on a BBQ grill or under the
toaster grill of your oven, grill the 4 bananas with their skins on. While
these are cooking (until bursting and bubbling) take the whole pineapple,
take off the top, and while keeping the outter skin on cut it length ways
in four and remove the central core.
Then still keeping the outer skin on, cut the pineapple into wedge like shapes by cutting across the length. Dip those wedges into the brown sugar and put the wedges also onto the grill to cook until looking golden brown.
While this is happening melt the 100 grms of butter into a saucepan add the remining sugar to that when the butter has melted and stir this together until it has the unmistakeable aroma of caramel toffee and is full of bubbles on the surface - about five minutes on medium heat. When it is ready add the cream to it and stir in or whisk together.
On the offering plate place the bananas, if they are not already split, just cut them open with a knife. Place the golden brown sticky pineapple wedges either side of the bananas place a serving of the ice-cream on top of the banana and then drizzle over the entire preparation a thick coating of the caramel toffee cream sauce.

A rabbit one day managed to break
free from the laboratory where he had been born and brought up. As he scurried
away from the fencing of the compound, he felt grass under his little feet
and saw the dawn breaking for the first time in his life.
"Wow, this is great," he thought.
It wasn't long before he came to a hedge and after squeezing under it he
saw a wonderful sight - lots of other bunny rabbits, all free and nibbling
at the lush grass.
"Hey," he called. "I'm a rabbit from
the laboratory and I've just escaped. Are you wild rabbits?"
"Yes. Come and join us," they cried.
Our friend hopped over to them and started eating the grass. It tasted
so good. "What else do you wild rabbits do?" he asked.
"Well," one of them said. "You see
that field there? It's got carrots growing in it. We dig them up and eat
them." This, he couldn't resist and he spent the next hour eating the most
succulent carrots. They were wonderful. Later, he asked them again, "What
else do you do?"
"You see that field there? It's got
lettuce growing in it. We eat that as well." The lettuce tasted just as
good and he returned a while later completely full.
"It's fantastic out here in the world!"
he told them.
"So, are you going to live with us
then?" one of them asked.
"I'm sorry, I had a great time but
I can't." The wild rabbits all stared at him, a bit surprised. "Why? We
thought you liked it here."
"I do," our friend replied. "But I
must get back to the lab. I'm dying for a cigarette."

Zoo who was a slow worker and found it really difficult to hold down a
job because of that and was fired.
After a visit to the job centre he
was offered work at the at the Mumbai Zoo.
When he arrived for his first day,
the other keepers being well aware of his reputation told him to take care
of the tortoise section.
Later, the keeper dropped by to see
how the new keeper was getting on and
found him standing by an empty enclosure.
"Where are the tortoises?" he asked
him.
"I can't believe it" said the new
keeper "I just opened the door and
then.....Whooooosh! ...and they all
went!"

"Sadness," said the student.

The Texan devotee replied, "Prabhu,

Here's an interesting diversion for two minutes.
A quick test of intelligence. Don't
cheat! If you do, the test won't be
fun. I promise, there are no tricks
to the test. Just read the sentence
below:
FINISHED FILES ARE THE RESULT OF YEARS
OF SCIENTIFIC STUDY COMBINED WITH
THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS.
Now count the F's in that sentence.
Count them ONLY ONCE. Do not go back
and count them again. See below.....
(don't cheat!)
ANSWER IS BELOW:

the Main Index:
http://members.xoom.com/hknetworks/index.htm
----------------------------------------------------------------
ANSWER:
There are six F's in the sentence.
A person of average intelligence finds
three of them.
If you spotted four, you're above
average.
If you got five, you can turn you
nose at most anybody.
If you caught six, you're a genius.
There is no catch. Many people forget
the "OF"'s. The human brain tends
to see them as V's and not F's! Pretty
weird, huh?
